9 Hole Mid Week Competition 2011

 

We have had a very successful season with over 100 members and some 30+   guests playing on at least one Wednesday evening through the summer.  The average attendance over the period was 46 with 2 peaks of 54 players in late May and early June.  The club collected £280 in green fees from the visitors and the takings over the bar must have helped the clubs finances.

 

Peter & I would like to thank you all for your support this season, there has been some great golf played and lots of handicap ‘cuts’.  There were one or two notable magic 2s wins especially when the fund was held over for two weeks. Linda Corstorphine won £41 in June,  Allen Strickland & Tom Winkworth both won £37 in July and Bill Dempsey £55 in September.

 

Congratulations to the Overall Winner Barry Allen; although not a WGC member he has supported the nine hole event since its conception in 2008, coming overall 6th in 2009.

 

Well done to you all and we look forward to hosting the event in 2012.
